Georgia had her two week doctor's appointment yesterday, which just confirmed what we already knew--we have an extremely healthy, growing, beautiful baby girl! She currently weighs 8 lbs. 2 oz. and is 20 3/4 inches long. Now, she measured 20.5 inches when she was born, but at the doctor's office that following week she had shrunk to 19.5 inches (something about a conehead...:-). Her weight gain and 'height' are both increasing well. She has had a couple of rather fussy days/nights, which tire out both mommy and daddy, and the doctor says is perfectly normal. I think she may be hitting a growth spurt, and the doctor also said that she may be developing colic--which is unpreventable and unexplainable, and we would just rather not speak of it! The doctor encouraged me to get more sleep at night, and to have Nathan take over one of the night feedings. Please pray for us as we try to figure out how exactly to do that; I desperately want Nathan to get as much sleep as he can, since he is the one working full time and taking classes!
In other mile markers, Georgia gets increasingly more alert every day. Her daddy has a knack of calming her down when mommy can't (sometimes because mommy is crying too!), and she loves to sit and look into his face. Georgia made her first trip to church on Sunday, and she behaved very well. She is getting old quickly--her umbilical cord fell off on Sunday as well, and I thought: "My baby's growing up!" I apologize for not posting pictures. I have a few to post, but I need to pull them off my camera. They will be coming soon.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, and for reading this blog!

Yall sound like you are doing great!!! You are doing a lot better than we were at first. Jackson had to go to the doctor like 6 times for juandice and major weight gain issues. Does she eat every 3 hours or sooner? Great to hear yall are doing so well!
Thanks for the encouraging words, Emily! Georgia really is doing great--she has just been fussy in the evenings the past few days, but even that isn't too bad. Perhaps the problem is Mom and Dad trying to impose something WE want on her:-) (like an early bedtime!) She does eat about every 2.5-3 hours, though sometimes at night she goes a little longer. I just remind myself that she is only 2 weeks old, and we can't expect perfection...yet!
Sounds like she is doing well!
