Okay, so I tried to work the CVS system again this week, and I think I fared pretty well. Here are my lessons learned:
1--If you really want a deal, go early in the week. There were a couple of good deals that were out of stock by Tuesday afternoon. No big trauma for me, since I didn't HAVE TO HAVE them, but next time I do, I need to shop early.
2--If I plan multiple transactions, I really can come away with spending next to nothing. Last night I made purchases that earned $4 in Extra Care Bucks. If I had broken up my purchases into two transactions, I would have spent less out of pocket. That is okay, though, because due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to make an extra CVS run this morning, and the ECB went to that (more on that later).
Let's crunch the numbers:
After CVS Extra Care Card savings, two different $2.00 coupons, and the $10.99 ECB from my last trip, I saved 69.97% off my total bill last night. I earned $4 ECB, so if I had applied those to my purchase, I would have saved 82.66%. Not too bad! My receipt also had a $3/$15 coupon on it, which is great, because we used it today--
Today's savings (with ECB and $3/$15) was 46.2%! Again, not too bad. I am learning:-)

Isn't it fun!
I am so glad you are trying the whole CVS thing as well. I would love to hear about what items you are buying.
