Lessons on sharing

Nathan and I are trying to teach Georgia about sharing. Now, we realize this is process that will continue throughout her life (as I am continually reminded how little I like to share), but it is still an important principle that she needs to learn early. Sometimes she gets it right, but not always...

Example #1: Last night I was giving both of the kids a bath, and had just finished rinsing out Georgia and Baxter's hair. Georgia asked for "more bubbles", so I gave her a little bit of baby wash for her to make into bubbles, and I turned away to get their towels. I heard "Yay, Baby's got bubbles!", and when I turned around (it was a fraction of a second!), Georgia had put her baby wash in Baxter's hair and was washing his hair! It was sweet and thoughtful--except I had already washed and rinsed his hair. However, I did compliment Georgia on her helpfulness and her sharing:-)

Example #2: Before her bath, friends of ours came over to borrow our van. G was excited to see them (they are some of her favorite people), and gave them hugs when they arrived. However, when our friends pulled away in the van, Georgia cried out "No, that's Georgia's van!" We tried to tell her that she needed to share, but she still fussed for a few minutes anyway. Oh well, one step at a time:-)
