Snow Day...make that SLEET Day (pt. 1)

A HUGE winter storm was supposed to hit RDU 

Monday evening this week (February 16)

As per our NC usual, we received less snow than expected

and then that snow was covered in sleet.

 Our 'dusting' as the snow started Monday night

These two pictures show how much sleet/ice we got after the snow

It made for crunchy, icy snow that really wasn't good for snowballs or snow angels

But that did NOT stop the Finnlings

 Baxter managed to break the snow enough on the back deck

to make his own snow angel

Snow or sleet--it's still cold and wet,

and requires hot cocoa!!
