Super Bowl 49 #theWaFo12s

Here are a few glimpses of our super fun Super Bowl party.
Our friends the Jones came over to hang out, all sporting their Seahawks gear:-)
A few members of our church were there too,
including the youngest, Autumn, and Moses, our friends' English bulldog.

It was so much fun we are hoping for a Seahawks threepeat next year!!

Super Bowl 49 Preparations

To prepare for the Super Bowl, we had to decorate,
get (and eat) good food, and practice throwing the football :-)

This balloon is the size of Eleanor.

Brief aside: we found a great food truck parked in
downtown Wake Forest on Saturday, and the food was delicious!
Check out Amigosan Food Truck when you can.

Baxter's new found interest in watching football also means learning to toss the football.
B looks for sunny days to play outside with his dad, and
we enjoy watching them play.

My chocoholic son and I made chocolate-chocolate chip cookies
for the big game.

My fingernails happened to match my scarf which happened to match Seattle Seahawks colors.

My handsome, matching boys, working off some energy before SB49 starts!

Mexican Coca Cola is my fuel for the game:-)

The Twelfth Man

This fall, Baxter has developed a deep interest in football. We have always been big supporters of UGA (Go Dawgs!), but are really not aligned with a particular NFL team.
I, personally, cheer for Peyton Manning no matter what team he plays for, and
occasionally Eli Manning as long as he isn't playing against his brother:-)
Nathan has been weighing what NFL team he wants to pick, but has not settled yet.

But #finnling2 has.

Last year, when the Broncos (PEYTON!!) played the Seahawks in the Super Bowl, we were all cheering for the Broncos...until a few minutes into the game, when Baxter decided he liked the Seahawks more. He's always been a contrarian, plus they have blue in their uniform
(he likes to cheer for "blue teams").

It has stuck, and as we started following NFL football late in the season, Baxter decided the Seahawks would be his team.

The Seahawks call their fans the Twelfth Man--the extra person on the team, the support for the players. It's a pretty awesome concept. Baxter embraces his fandom wholeheartedly

Since getting his t-shirt last week, Baxter has worn it multiple days in a row.
Today he made signs for us to use during the Super Bowl game next week.

GO HAWKS!

First UGA game!

To our great excitement and enjoyment, the first UGA football game of the college football season was broadcast on network television. Since we do not have cable, we often do not get to see UGA play unless we go to a friend's house (and we do that often). To celebrate, we had to decorate our door in style, as well as our children :-)

Are you ready for some football?

Pictures taken using my iPod, so they are not as clear.
