Sprinkler time!

It's recently warmed up a lot here in NC.
Finnling #1 has been asking to go to a pool regularly, but pools aren't open for awhile.
On Monday, I brought out our sprinkler to help the kids cool off.
It's a not a pool, but it does provide a lot of cheap entertainment!

Here's to more water-filled summer days soon!!

Summer Splash Pad!

While Nathan spent time in England, we had busy days with VBS, playdates, and more.

We spent one day hanging out in Durham with friends,
playing at their house,
and visiting a local splash pad.

The temperature was pretty cool for mid-July (high 70s),
but the kids didn't care.
Splash pads are always a blast!

Playing in the splash pad

It's always fun to sit on the fountain:-)

This boy. Goodness. He is edible.

This girl. A mess. Still adorable, though.

She wanted to play in the splash pad,
but insisted on wearing googles to protect her eyes.
Googles that were too big for her.
Such a mess.

These friends are a big blessing to us.
We LOVE the Renstrom family.
And see B's arm around that little blondie's shoulder?
He thinks she is fabulous, and I hope I can show this picture to them again one day :-)

A fish named Georgia

Georgia has, for the most part, always enjoyed the water. Last year, when we set up our inflatable pool in the backyard, she grew more and more adventurous and comfortable in the water. Granted, it wasn't more than about 2 feet deep, but it made her very confident in the water. Match that frequent 'water experience' with the fact that she can easily touch in the shallow end of a pool, and you have a little girl who is rapidly turning into a fish. In fact, I might even say that she can SWIM. Georgia girl LOVES to put her face in the water, and is getting better about moving around underwater. In a couple of the pictures you can see how red her eyes are from the chlorine! Swim goggles help, but she doesn't like to use them all the time. I am so excited for this new stage of her development, and I hope she can continue to enjoy the water for the rest of her life! I love my little fish named Georgia.

Joe the Jumper and Selah the Snuggler

While I was in Georgia, my best friend Jeni came to visit with two of her three children. It is always a joy to spend time with her, and my kids love playing with her children. Joe loved jumping into the pool, and Selah was kind enough to love on me some!

Note: these pictures were of at least two different jumps, but they are still cool put in order:-)
