Latest reality check/doctor's appointment

Well, this week began the "once a week" doctor's visits, which seems to drive home the fact that we don't have much longer to go in the pregnancy! As of today, Friday, September 22, I have completed 37 weeks and have officially only three weeks left until my due date...what that means, we still don't know--will she come early/late? etc.

The doctor's appointment on Tuesday went really well. My blood pressure is beautiful, my weight gain good, no sign of toxemia anywhere--good news, good news! The only thing "off" was that I was measuring smaller than I should, which my doctor said could be explained if Georgia had "dropped" and was "engaged." After examining me, the doctor confirmed that our baby has indeed dropped--translation by Nathan: "Georgia has assumed the position"(so no more speculation from people wondering if my belly has changed shape)! This means that things are slowly progressing towards labor. No, I am not in labor, no, I have not had contractions! Yet things are moving along nicely, and the doctor reminded us that she could come at any point.

All that to say, we are not panicked, but Nathan and I do realize that the date we have firmly held in our mind may not actually be when Georgia chooses to appear--and consequently, we have many things we would like to accomplish soon. We covet your prayers as we try to tie up loose ends in the nursery, and as I prepare to leave my full-time job for the more wonderful all-the-time job of staying home with Georgia. Also, please be in prayer for our health. I have pushed myself a little too hard recently and am feeling rather worn out, and Nathan is battling a nasty upper respiratory infection (and trying not to give it to me). We are trusting in our great God who grants us peace and healing!

Until later...
