The First SNOW of 2013, pt. 2

If you may remember, in this post I showed you pictures of the first snow of 2013. Here are the followup pictures from the next day, January 18, 2013.

Our total accumulation was between 1/2-1 inch. There was snow first, and then a layer of freezing rain, so instead of lovely fluffy snow, we had icy, chunky snow that crunched when you walked on it. The texture of the snow didn't bother the kids too much, though G couldn't really make a snow angel (but she tried). We played outside for about an hour with neighborhood friends, came inside and warmed up with hot chocolate, and then went back outside again for a brief time. All Eleanor wanted to do was eat the snow, but the big kids had fun walking and playing in it.
