Giveaway!

Everyone loves free stuff--and the blog world is teeming with giveaways! In fact, I just won my first blog giveaway over at Counting Sprinkles (thanks, Mrs. S!). I am very excited about Giveaway Day tomorrow at the Sew,Mama,Sew blog, and I check Bloggy Giveaways frequently. I have been tempted to participate in a large mass giveaway (like the two mentioned above), but I have refrained due to various reasons.

However, I realized just this week that I hit over 10,000 readers on my blog! Yippee! So in the spirit of celebrating a milestone AND to start off the Christmas season, I am offering a giveaway to my good friends near and far, my blog readers. One lucky person will receive either a handmade diaper clutch (also useful as a purse:-) or a set of 4 fabric coasters. See pic below of diaper clutch--I will post a picture of the coasters when I have one! My rules are as follows:

  • You must comment on this post by Friday, December 5.
  • In your comment, tell me something you love about Christmas: a favorite song, memory, recipe, tradition, etc.
  • Include your email address if you aren't one of the several people I email regularly:-)
  • If I don't know you, please tell me how you found my blog--just because I think that is interesting information.

The winner will be selected at random and will be notified no later than Monday, December 8. I am hoping this giveaway gives me the chance to "meet" people who read my blog. Thanks for playing!!

I am a regular reader. Actually, I just look at the pictures, especially the one's of your husband. Now that's one devilishly handsome chap.

Nathan is so funny! Anyway, I can't wait to see if I win one of your goodies! I love your new fabrics that you purchased. Ok, so one of my favorite memories of Christmas time was when my dad was a volunteer fire fighter and we got to go the station with him while he had to sell the christmas trees. It was/is still an intersting sight to see my dad pick the 'best' tree out. Of course, the pirates are always fun too! See you tomorrow!

My favorite Christmas tradition - I love just sitting around with lots of family at Christmas and enjoying the time together - a rare treat to see so many people in such a short time span.

I was in your husband's Baptist History Class at SECWF Fall of 2006 when you were pregnant with/just had Georgia. I think I found the link to your site on his blog. I love anything having to do with babies, so I have frequented your blog since then. A little stalker-ish maybe...but I enjoy the recipes, funny stories, etc. My husband and I have since graduated SEBTS and moved to Woodstock, GA and are expecting our second child in June.

My favorite Christmas traditions are no bake cookies, dirty santa, and playing lots of games! As of last year, it plays "a whole nother story" as I was in labor with Elizabeth. Unfortunately, I'm not able to carry out that tradition again this year.

I do know you already, but I remember you telling me about your blog right when it first started in the ol' switchboard room. Yep. I've been a reader since day one. :)

Nathan is too funny. he would look cute carrying around one of those cute diaper clutch. I kinda hope he wins.

My favorite Christmas tradition: celebrating at someone else's house so I don't have to decorate my own!

I'm so bad...I know.

Candy Cane Fudge (on my blog under candy) is a great easy recipe for the holidays. My family doesn't do much tradition of anything. I love the new holiday border. Have a great day! :)

I love the German Christmas traditions that my family has carried on from my childhood! Advent is one of my favorites.

I am also hoping Nathan wins the drawing!

I, too, want to see Nathan win the diaper clutch. HA! I will go against the flow (something I frequently do anyway) and tell you about my fav Christmas song- Mary, Did You Know. The lyrics have always blown my mind because I, too, wonder how much she comprehended that importance of her son. I am sure she did because I know she knew the honor and privilege given to her by God. However, now that I am a mom, the lyrics have taken on a whole 'nuther meaning to me. I wonder what Sam is going to do with his life, what kind of person he will be, etc. I just pray that he will be a strong follower of God and the pressure on me to teach and lead him in that journey is HUGE! Wow!!

I just discovered a soft ginger cookie that will become my Christmas tradition. And www.pandora.com using "Frank Sinatra (holiday)" has become a fun way to fill the air with soothing Christmas music while I bake them.
Your blog is in my google reader... everytime I see Georgia it reminds me of sweet thoughts of home and sweet smiles on your face.
Praying for your family!

My favorite Christmas tradition growing up and now in our family is reading the Christmas story from the Bible as well as another fun favorite, "The Night Before Christmas" before going to bed on Christmas Eve.

I found your blog off of Leah Thomas' and enjoy reading about you guys! I guess I am learning about you now since we missed out on really getting to know each other at Fletcher! Love all of your craftiness and baby stories!

My favorite Christmas tradition is trying so hard to keep secrets of the presents I'm giving, but being so excited to give them that I blow them all every year and spoil the surprise. So far I have only given away 3!!! Funny, but this is totally not anyone else's favorite tradition (especially those who have confided their secrets to me.)

Well I figured since I'm family it would exclude me from winning the prize but I thought I'd share with you anyway :)
As you know I love to decorate for Christmas, as evident by my three Christmas trees along with the decorated mantel, dining room, bathroom etc. Patrick laughs saying that if there is a Christmas decoration to be put somewhere I will do it. But my favorite tradition is sitting in the living room after all the decorations are up watching Christmas movies, "White Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, Muppet Christmas Carol..." The list goes on.
Growing up my parents would always spend a weekend making homemade candies and I always loved doing that and giving it away to family and friends. This year being pregnant I haven't had the energy to do much cooking but I hope to at least make my favorite cookies, oatmeal cranberry with white chocolate drizzle.
I guess that sums it up. I love reading your blog and I check it daily for updates on what is new with you guys and to see any new pictures of the cutest niece & nephew in the world! Love you guys!

Something I love about Christmas? The lights. I know its a little silly, but I absolutely love Christmas lights. On Chrismtas trees, on houses, in fun shapes in the yard, whatever. What can I say, I love "sparklies."

Hey! Thanks for the extension!
I really enjoy going to Christmas eve church service. Since I am usually somewhere other than my church I am reminded of the Unity in Christ of all believers!
I also really like eating Christmas dinner with my family because g-mom, nana, mom, and aunt laura are great cooks!
Yum! (I wrote this twice b/c I wasn't sure it went through the first time)
