Today I am thankful for messy floors. Just keeping it real for you, folks--this is picture of what my floor looks like more often than not. Yes, you can spot a couple of used diapers there. It happens. Messy floors remind me that I have small children who love to play, who have great imaginations, and who really don't care if anyone sees their mess! Georgia recently said, when I mentioned a friend was visiting: "Do we not have to clean? Can she just see our mess?" It was so funny and truthful and revealed what was really important--our friend was coming to visit us, and not inspect our floors (or counters, or sinks, or bathrooms...). Many days I get very frustrated at the continual mess that my kids make (you should see their room--the below picture is mild), but I want to treasure the messy moments while I have them. I hope you are treasuring your sticky, messy, real life moments as well.

Our floor looked just like this numerous times today... messy diapers and all! But, you are so right: Treasure the messes because I treasure the kiddos who made those messes!
I'd say that's about average, at least compared to around here. At least these toys are big. Wait until they are teeny-tiny LEGOs and misc weapons (and Barbie shoes, for you)! LOL
And I am so thankful for your honesty! My floor looks just like that (and worse) every day and I am glad to know I'm not the only one!
This is a great perspective, Leah--these days go by quickly.....and then the teenage years hit and they come back, but I'll let you wait on that! If someone cares about your floors, just tell them to visit you in 20 years when you get them back! ;D
